Summary:

TIRE DESCRIPTION: COOPER SIGNET WINTER TRAX TIRE SIZE 215/70R16 MANUFACTURED BETWEEN OCTOBER 15 AND OCTOBER 21, 2000. THESE TIRES HAVE AN IMPROPER STUD PIN HOLE DUE TO THE MOLD STUD PIN WORKING LOOSE. LOSS OF AIR COULD CAUSE THE TIRE TO RUN UNDER-INFLATED AND RESULT IN EARLY FAILURE. LOSS OF AIR MIGHT RESULT IN LOSS OF STEERING CONTROL POSSIBLY RESULTING IN A VEHICLE CRASH.

Remedy:

COOPER IS NOTIFYING ITS CUSTOMERS TO HAVE THEIR TIRES REPLACED FREE OF CHARGE. OWNER NOTIFICATION BEGAN MAY 29, 2001. OWNERS WHO TAKE THEIR VEHICLES TO AN AUTHORIZED DEALER ON AN AGREED UPON SERVICE DATE AND DO NOT RECEIVE THE FREE REMEDY WITHIN A REASONABLE TIME SHOULD CONTACT COOPER TIRE CONSUMER RELATIONS DEPARTMENT AT 800-854-6288.

WARNING: Please Read The Following

Potential Tire Failure Lawsuit

If you, or a loved one, have been seriously injured in a wreck or rollover accident caused in part by a tire tread failure or sudden blowout, then you may have legal action against the tire and vehicle manufacturers for your injuries and losses. It is important to KEEP IN YOUR POSSESSION the vehicle involved in the accident, the tire, the tire tread and any pieces of the tire that separated from the tire during the failure. The vehicle, tire, tire tread and all tire pieces are critical evidence in a vehicle crashworthiness or defective tire lawsuit. Do not send the defective tire or the tire pieces to the manufacturer until you have spoken to an attorney or lawyer.
