The Possibility of a Tire Defect Lawsuit
If you or a loved one have experienced a serious injury as a direct result of a Bridgestone/Firestone Steeltex A/T tire’s blowout, tread separation and subsequent rollover, roof crush or other major accident, make sure to keep in your possession every piece of equipment involved. Do not relinquish control of your vehicle or send the manufacturer the detached tread, blown out tire or other pieces of rubber. All of this is crucial evidence in your case, and getting rid of any of it will make proper inspections and crashworthiness tests difficult, if not possible. This could hurt your case immeasurably. Always work with a personal injury attorney with experience handling tire failure to make sure you receive the proper settlement.
NHTSA and Bridgestone/Firestone Tire Manufacturers
Tire recalls not initiated by the manufacturer are the responsibility of The Department of Transportation's National Highway Traffic Safety Administration (NHTSA), which also establishes federal safety standards for both tires and vehicles.
